Six Sigma Certification is confirmation of an individual’s capabilities with the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge. It is one of the most sought after credentials by employers in the business world today!

Employers know that putting certified belts to work on projects saves them MONEY...

Like most certifications, Six Sigma certification is granted when the requirements of the certifying organization have been met.

And although the cost of obtaining certification has plummeted, SALARIES REMAIN HIGH.......

Different proficiency levels of Six Sigma certification exist depending upon the role. Six Sigma roles use the Karate metaphor of colored belts. In Karate, as one acquires knowledge and masters techniques, they are awarded the next level of colored belt. The higher the belt level attained, the more expertise that individual has.

Six Sigma Certification Training

Six Sigma certification represents a great deal to individuals and business enterprises. It develops people skills and capability for the participants. It consists of proven set of analytical tools, project-management techniques, reporting methods and management methods combined to form a powerful problem-solving and business-improvement methodology.

The Are Four Ways To Get Certified...

  • Employers
  • Professional associations
  • Colleges and universities
  • Certification service providers

Many companies provide Six Sigma certification to their employees and provide training based on the standards that the company has set. The positive is that this training is FREE...YES:)

The negative is that the program may not be as thorough as an independent program. The certification may not be recognized by or transferable to another company.

Six Sigma Certification Accreditation

Currently there is no one authorizing agency which holds "THE" Body of Knowledge (BOK) and a set of requirements for Six Sigma Training. The American Society for Quality's (ASQ) BOK is probably the best know in the United States but many others exist adding or deleting from the ASQ BOK for different emphasis.

Globally the Council for Six Sigma Certification is the most respected professional accreditation body within the Lean Six Sigma industry. It does not provide Six Sigma training, mentoring, coaching, or consulting services.

It's objective is to ensure that Six Sigma Certified individuals have been exposed to the complete Six Sigma Body of Knowledge and have been required to meet the minimum standards of proficiency for Six Sigma and its implementation.

Once approved, accredited training providers are monitored to determine if their program has been altered, a new instructor has been introduced, or a certification requirement is modified.

The council reviews university programs, third party training providers, corporate training programs, independent consultants, and consulting firms.
